The new name of the social media platform Facebook will now be Meta. The company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg made this announcement late Thursday night. In the company’s Connect event, Mark said – We have created a company that took technology to the people. It has been our endeavor to bring technology to the people and through this we can create a big economy.

A few days ago, there were reports that Facebook might change its name. Now in Thursday’s Company Connect event, CEO Mark Zuckerberg has made a formal announcement about it.

Glimpse of our intentions
Mark said – With the new name, our intentions are also reflected, as well as it is clear what we want to do. The old name may not have been very successful in conveying our complete and true identity, people are still associated with us. In the times to come, we will be able to present ourselves in a better way.

Zuckerberg has decided to add @meta to his Twitter handle as well. Along with this, when meta.com is written, it will directly redirect you to the home page of Facebook.

The company had also indicated that
on October 19, media reports had indicated that Facebook is now going to change its name. According to reports, Mark wanted Facebook not to be considered only a social media platform.
